MACARONI KID CELEBRATES 5 YEARS OF PUBLISHING

Happy Birthday Macaroni Kid Birthday bashMacaroni Kid Danbury-Bethel-Ridgefield (www.danbury.macaronikid.com), a hyperlocal online parenting publication, is celebrating its 5th year of publishing by inviting the local community to its second annual Birthday Bash event on November 7, 2015 from 12PM-4PM at the Danbury Sports Dome - an indoor, state-of-the-art, multi-sport, corporate and special event complex - located at 25 Shelter Rock Lane in Danbury. Macaroni Kid is dedicated to helping parents find the family fun. So this birthday-themed event will showcase local birthday-party businesses in an interactive, celebratory atmosphere that will provide guests – local families looking for kids’ birthday party planning resources – helpful information and a memorable, fun experience. 100% of the admission proceeds will be donated to Family & Children’s Aid -- a child-focused organization offering behavioral and mental health care for local children and their families -- located at 75 West Street in Danbury.

So what will the Birthday Bash be like? Meghan Friedland, Macaroni Kid Publisher/Editor explains, “This will not be your typical Expo. From the décor to the kids’ activities and live entertainment, guests will feel like they are attending a huge birthday party.” Birthday hats and goody bags will be handed out to the first 300 children at arrival. Businesses will host interactive kids’ activities at their booths. In addition to meeting a variety of local party venues, guests will also sample birthday cake and treats from local bakeries as well as enjoy live entertainment including The Magic of Tom Pesce, Han Dol Martial Arts, Music by Ali Froman, strolling costumed characters and more! “Every single business participating will have something to offer for families looking to plan a memorable birthday party for their child and many will offer special deals for families looking to book a party while at the event.” Even the event venue itself will be participating in the Birthday Bash. Kirk Bamford, Director at Danbury Sports Dome shares: “The Danbury Sports Dome is one of the area’s premier birthday party locations. So we will give guests a sense of what it would be like to have a birthday party at the Dome. We’ll be creating a Fun Zone area with large inflatables and an obstacle course and will also have our private party room on display. Our arcade room will be open as well as our concession area. We’ll also be offering a $25 discount to anyone who books a party during the event.”

As customary with attending a birthday party, guests are asked to bring a gift – a new unwrapped piece of sporting equipment – to be donated to Family & Children’s Aid in Danbury. Any new sports or recreational item that engages children in physical activity like soccer balls, baseballs, basketballs, footballs, ring tosses, tennis, ping pong, hula hoops, badminton, jump ropes, and so on, as well as used bicycles would be greatly appreciated. In lieu of a physical gift, families can make a monetary donation at the door of $15 per family. Meghan says, “We are thrilled to work with Family & Children’s Aid again this year as the Macaroni Kid brand is all about connecting with and serving local families and our local community.” Kevin McNellis, Director of Operations at Family & Children’s Aid continues, “We are so grateful that Macaroni Kid selected us to be the recipient of the admission donations from their second annual Birthday Bash event. The monetary donations and new sporting goods items will help us to continue to provide fun and healthy activities for the children receiving services from our organization.”

Families interested in attending can “Join” the event on Facebook here where participating businesses and the day’s entertainment will be announced.

For businesses looking to participate, affordable table and goody bag space is available along with sponsorship packages that will extend reach to Macaroni Kid’s exclusive online community for a fully integrated, targeted marketing campaign that is second to none.
