John and Linda share what it's like being foster parents: As for the differences between parenting a biological child and a foster child, John believes that there are some common underlying threads. “They want a mommy and daddy. They want a family. They want to be safe. They want to be loved.”

Respite foster parents give caregivers a break by providing short-term care for foster children during an emergency or crisis. Respite care can also offer caregivers planned breaks. “There is a huge need for respite caregivers,” explains Mindy Solomon, Program Supervisor of Family & Children’s Aid Foster Care Services.

The Activity Day Girls Group of TThe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tolland, CT donated 165 dresses to our girls in conjunction with the reading of Eleanor Estes 100 Dresses.
If you go into the Lego room on any given day, a child will have spelled out their name or initials in Legos on the wall. Our visitor kids don’t seem to do this. They build stuff. Our client kids build stuff too, but they seem to have a need to leave their mark as well. What does it mean, this need to leave their mark?
